baseball-babeA lot of sharp online betting enthusiasts have developed a system for baseball called the revenge system. Today we look at the basics behind baseball revenge and two types of systems.

What is the Baseball Revenge System?

A baseball revenge system essentially is when you the bettor predict when teams will be motivated to play games. In the MLB the season is 162 games, which means that each team will face each other in two to four games series. As a bettor it is difficult enough predicting the outcome of games, but now you have to predict when teams will be motivated to play. The best teams tend to win over 60 percent of their games while the worst teams win between 35 to 40 percent of their games.

There are two scenarios when a team would classify under the betting revenge system:

1.      Quick Revenge System – This system is used on teams that either have been embarrassed the night before in a game where they possibly led by a run and ended up losing by three. Or by a team who was swept in a previous series against the current opponent and wants revenge.

However in order for the QRS to work, the team getting revenge needs to be favored in at least one of the games you are to wager upon.  Basically by your team being favored it tells you that they have either improved to being equal with the team that destroyed them the last time or you have a stronger pitcher. For instance, in years past when the Jays would get destroyed in one series by the Yankees, occasionally former Jay Roy Halladay would face a stop gap pitcher at the back of the Yankees rotation. This would give the Jays an advantage.

Nevertheless this is the Yankees and Blue Jays we are talking about, so an advantage for the Blue Jays is unlikely. This system is used because of the added motivation and favorable betting line.

2.      Long Term Revenge System – Here, the sports bettor would look at top teams who were swept by rivals in one series and returned in another to take at least one of the games in the new series with the same opponent.

To further this notion, some fans betting on the run line look at past series when figuring which team to take. If a team such as the Boston Red Sox were swept in a previous series against the Baltimore Orioles, and then went on a tear leading up to the new series, fans would bet on the run line by adding points in favor of Boston.
