1. Don’t Bet Until After The All-Star Break: To many this may seem odd, however we endorse this notion wholeheartedly. Essentially from April up until the All-Star game, is a giant feeling out process in which bad teams overachieve, making it difficult to choose a winner. However by the time the season resumes after the All-Star break, teams that have always been contenders over the years tend to show up and make a statement. Players on the good teams tend to hit their stride by the All-Star break after starting slowly, and this is a good time to start wagering.
2. Take Streaks Under Advisement - Whether it is a losing or winning streak, avoid wagering on a team after three to four games. We believe this to be an affective tip when placing bets, because streaks tend to bring out laziness in players, who take advantage of the situation. Just focus on one game at a time for the most success when wagering.
3. Compare the Teams – The most significant tip we can offer, when placing bets on baseball games. When a powerhouse teams faces a basement team, you will see moneyline’s and overnight dime lines exceed normal amounts, because the bookie assumes the powerhouse will win. However, look at stats comparing the two teams, as the basement team may just happen to be excellent against the powerhouse.
4. Consider The Park - There are two types of parks, the pitchers park and the hitters park. Pitchers parks, are ones that work in favor of a pitcher, pop ups, ground balls and so forth. Hitters parks on the contrary, as they sound, are made work in the hitters advantage, what would be deemed a long fly ball, can now go for a home run.
5. Check For Injuries- Prior to each game you choose to wager on, it is important to run through the lineup. In a tight series where two divisional rivals battle, defense and pitching will be key factors to your bet being the right one. In order to assure victory, you should check the lineups and assure a key defensive player is not replaced by a an average fielder who is excellent with a big bat and so forth.
