Wizards Win The NBA Draft Lottery

Now that the Preakness has passed, we can take a breather from horse racing betting to focus on some other things. No, it’s not time for ncaa football betting tips or your football betting guide quite yet but there was some big NBA news on Tuesday night. On Tuesday, May 18th, the NBA held it’s annual NBA Draft Lottery and as per usual, the team who needed the first overall pick the most didn’t get it. The New Jersey Nets had the best chance to pull it off as they posted just 12 wins in the 2009-10 season but they only received the third pick overall. So who was the surprise winner? The Washington Wizards. If you go by the ping-pong balls and percentages as to where the teams finished last year, the Wizards were supposed to be picking in the No. 5 slot but they caught a lucky break and moved up all the way to No. 1. As everyone knows, the marquee player in this draft is a guard by the name of John Wall, who is expected to be a special one in the coming years. john-wall At the same time, he’s expected to be the only real extraordinary, elite talent in this draft, so that’s why the No. 1 pick was so critical. Oh, well. Good luck to you Nets fans with your new owner and the No. 3 pick. Could be another trying year on the sports lines odds for them.
