This past weekend golf betting enthusiasts betting on the Texas Open were treated to a come from behind victory for Australian Adam Scott. Scott, who had not won a tournament in almost two years, was down by four strokes heading into the final round of the Texas Open, before he was able to edge fellow tour member Frederik Jacobson by a stroke. The victory saw another new winner at the Texas Open and seventh overall in the last seven events on the PGA Tour. The winning prize for the Texas Open was $1,098,000 US, which was a proud accomplishment after two long grueling years for Scott.
Tiger Back For British Open
After missing the Texas Open this past weekend, Tiger Woods has graced golf fans with his presence for the British Open. Woods is currently out with a strained neck muscle, but will compete in June at both the US Open and AT&T National prior to the British Open. Woods, the world’s best golfer, returned in April at the Masters, after a six month layoff to deal with personal matters that became public. When Woods returned at the Masters he appeared rusty at best, but at the Players Championship, he was able to display much better form before succumbing to a neck injury. The British Open has been a great tournament for Woods in the past as he has won two of his three grand slam titles at St. Andrews golf course. When betting sports online such as golf, one used to be sure that betting on Tiger Woods was the safest bet in a tournament such as the British Open. However in Woods absence other golfers on the tour have proven to be of admirable competition as each tournament has resulted in a new winner instead of constant repeat victories.
