The NBA Championships odds have been released, and although it may be hard for online sports betting enthusiasts to single out one team for an NBA title win, the road to the finals is especially full with solid investment bets, particularly in the opening round. Amongst the eight first round playoff series’, only two underdogs have managed to win a game so far. Those two teams are the Portland Trail Blazers, and the Utah Jazz, and a case can be made that each of those teams are the better of the two in their series.
However, there are plenty of big favorites that are worth betting on in the opening round. The Cleveland Cavaliers have been dominant through the first two games of their series with the Chicago Bulls, and although there is heavy juice that players must risk to take them, it would take an unimaginable sequence of events to keep them from reaching the second round, which is why with two more wins needed to advance, they are worth laying the money on. If they lose one game, double up on them.
The same can be said for the Lakers, Hawks, and Magic, all teams that are unlikely not to reach the second round. Beware however of the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics series. Although the Celtics are heavy favorites, Dwayne Wade is talented enough and does have a good enough supporting cast to push that series all the way, and that is not worth the risk.
